Hotel Etiquette
Be a good ambassador for dog owners. Wear a smile when walking your dog. Be friendly and patient with people who make inquiries about your dog. Keep your dog(s) next to you and only permit canine greetings with other dogs or people if you have received a request.
Many hotels prohibit leaving pets alone in a room. We don’t recommend it either; however, if you must leave your dog alone, crate her up for her safety and as a courtesy to hotel employees who may need to access your room.
Protect hotel carpeting by bringing and using a sheet of plastic or a blanket under your dog’s crate.
Pack grooming tools and supplies, including canine shampoo, in case your dog needs a clean-up before returning to your hotel. Avoid using hotel bath tubs for canine bathing, especially if your pet is full of sand or has a coat that sheds.
If your dog is a bed lounger be sure to remove the bed spreads and put down an extra sheet or a blanket from home.
Be a good neighbor to your fellow hotel guests by providing your dog with chew toys or bones to keep her content and quiet. Barking is never a welcomed vocalization.
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dog. Please dispose of dog waste in outside trash cans. Avoid depositing waste in receptacles at the entrance or inside the hotel.
Please watch your dog carefully during your hotel stay. Hotels have zero tolerance for canine elimination inside the hotel. Dogs who are still in a “chew” stage should be crated with a chew toy. Damage fees may be assessed by the hotel and billed directly to the dog owner, but the greatest damage will be the reputation of all dog owners.
