Terms for Watersports Lessons

Scheduling for new Watersports students opens April 1st.  Contact Deborah Lee at K9WaterFun@aol.com to set up your dates.

Appointments are available on Fridays between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., beginning May 1st through September 30th.   

Private lessons are 50 minutes in duration and structured for individual needs and goals, but like the group classes the emphasis is on teaching handlers to relax and have fun with their dog while creating valuable canine water behaviors.

Like classes and workshops, private lessons are pre-paid to reserve your training time. Refunds or transfers are issued only if the instructor cancels the lesson.  The lesson fee of $70.00, includes CT. State Sales Tax (6.35%),  use of the lake, water equipment and the instructor’s guidance.

The training location is a private beach near Trumbull, CT.  Directions are sent with appointment confirmation.

My Rules:

1. •NO COMPULSION OF ANY KIND, Joyful Cooperation is the goal. A dog has the right to refuse and have that refusal honored by the trainer. 
   

2. •No throat collars permitted on the dog  while in the  water.
   

3. •No long lines permitted.  Leads must be under 5 ft in length and float.
   

4. •If you are asking the dog to Think & Swim, a life jacket must be on the dog.
   

5. •It is unacceptable to yell Wrong or No at the dog while teaching a behavior. 
   

6. •DO Strengthen “Come”  or  “Stop” signals to ensure safety and freedoms  by integrating these cues into daily shared activities.
